Gordon Biersch jerks things up for summer
Starting next Tuesday, Gordon Biersch Brewery Restaurant is going to spice up Broomfield by introducing a limited-time Caribbean menu and a new Kolsch-style beer at its 1 West Flatiron Circle location.
The menu features an assortment of seafood, fruit and spice combinations, including shrimp and lobster spring rolls, a Kobe burger seasoned with jerk spices, chimichurri (is that really Caribbean?), and lots and lots of mango, papaya and coconut.
Gordon Biersch executive chef Bill Heckler added his own seasonings and spice blends to complement the new menu items. "Our housemade Jerk spice blend, habanero chilies and tropical fruit salsa scream bold international flavors which make [them] the perfect fit for our menu," Heckler says.
The cheesily-named SommerBrau beer is described as a "pale, gold beer with a light body" with a "prominent (but not extreme) hoppiness" and " a more restrained bitterness than the standard German or Czech pilsners." The restaurant will have a tapping party for the beer Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m.

Shrimp & Lobster Spring Rolls
Crisp spring rolls filled with shrimp, lobster and vegetables, served with a lemon lobster sauce.
Coconut-crusted shrimp, shrimp and lobster spring rolls
and jerk chicken sliders topped with fresh tropical fruit salsa.
Lobster, Crab & Shrimp Salad
Citrus-marinated lobster, crab and shrimp served over a mixed salad of lettuce, mango, tomatoes
and cucumbers tossed in balsamic orange vinaigrette.
Island Steak Tacos
Skirt steak seared medium with lettuce, pico de gallo and chimichurri sauce in a crisp blue corn tortilla, wrapped with a soft flour tortilla and pepper jack cheese, accompanied by black beans and rice.
Blackened Mahi Mahi
With a fresh papaya-strawberry and pineapple salsa.
Served with vegetables, black beans and rice.
Margarita Jalapeno Pizza
Seasoned ground beef, pepper jack and cheddar cheeses, jalapenos, black beans, tomatoes, red onions and cilantro.
Key West Lobster & Shrimp Linguini
Lobster and shrimp tossed with linguini and a creamy key lime butter.
Jamaican Kobe Burger
Seasoned with jerk spices, topped with tropical fruit salsa and lemon aioli.
Served with Gordon Biersch Garlic Fries.
Seasoned skirt steak served with chimichurri sauce, vegetables, black beans and rice.
Churrasco Steak & Coconut Shrimp
Seasoned skirt steak and coconut shrimp served with fresh tropical fruit salsa and honey mustard sauce. Accompanied by black beans and rice.
Montego Bay Banana Split
Grilled banana topped with moist pound cake, ice cream, strawberry, caramel and chocolate sauces, toasted pecans, coconut, whipped cream and chocolate
