After a rambunctious Saturday night that resulted in a head-pounding hangover, I stumbled out of bed on Sunday morning desperate for nourishment. I wasn't feeling menudo, dim sum, posole or, God forbid, liquor, but I was craving bread, which is how I ended up spending nearly $30 on croissants, blue-cheese-and ham-injected rolls sprinkled with salt, and assorted other sweet and savory pastries.
