Joy Wine & Spirits's second annual Chili Cook-off will take place this Sunday from noon to 5 p.m. in the parking lot behind the shop at 1302 East Sixth Avenue. The family-friendly block party and competition features an impressive lineup of local restaurants: Fruition, Barolo, Mizuna, Table 6, Potager, Lala's, Dazzle, WaterCourse, Skoops Eatery, Mr. Lucky's, LoDo's and Syrup.

There will be a beer garden as well, with brews from Great Divide, Avery, Prost, Left Hand, Renegade, Oskar Blues and California's Firestone-Walker; and spirits from Leopold Bros., DeerHammer Distillery and Peach Street Distilling.

The cook-off also features an amateur competition that's open to the public. Participation costs $25 for a team of two, and includes all-you-can-eat chili, bragging rights and a chance to win prizes. Deadline for entry is today; visit the shop for more information.

Tickets to the festivities cost $10 per person or $35 for a group of four and can be purchased at Joy. All proceeds will benefit the Colfax Community Network, a local nonprofit committed to helping low-income families living in motels along Colfax Avenue. Call Joy Wine & Spirits at 303-744-6219 for more information.
