If beer and sausage are your thing but you never had a chance to try Wurstkuche before it closed last week, you're in luck: Kline's Beer Hall opened last night in Arvada. Owners Lenka Juchelkova and Mike Huggins, who also operate the Arvada Tavern and Union Lodge No. 1, have been reworking the former D Note space since last summer and have now unveiled a fifty-tap, wide-open room with a menu and suds list that embrace European roots while remaining distinctly American. And since Huggins and Juchelkova are already plugged into the Denver bar scene, you can bet that Kline's will have a Colorado vibe (unlike Wurstkuche, a California concept).

In other beer-hall news, Rhein Haus, which opened for dinner in November, launched lunch hours this week. Now you can stop at the LoDo hot spot for the three Bs — beers, bratwurst and bocce ball — beginning at 11 a.m. daily.

Setting sausage aside, there's good news on the doughnut front, too. Chef Ian Kleinman is hosting his fifth annual doughnut pop-up shop next week. This will be the first time the a.m. eatery will be on Kleinman's home turf, since he opened his own dessert bar, the Inventing Room, last fall. Stop by the store from 6 to 10 a.m. any day from January 27 to January 30, to experience doughnut wizardry with four breakfast beverages and nine pastry creations. Along with the roster of margarita, baklava, Boston cream pie and other delicious doughnuts, there's a space reserved where your own invention could become reality. Submit your idea on the Inventing Room's website for a chance to have Kleinman select your creation. You can also place advance orders for orders of a dozen or more.
