Today the restaurant chain is celebrating its fortieth birthday, and in true hippie form the restaurants are sharing the love and giving gifts to their guest. Today all Mellow Mushroom locations are celebrating the chain's fortieth anniversary by throwing prices way back to 1974. One Way Back Wednesday you can get small cheese pizzas for $2.50; PBR, Michelob and Budweiser for 75 cents; and Coca-Cola products for 30 cents.

Mellow Mushroom's downtown location is also holding a photo contest for the occasion. The store has a cut-out of the Original Mellow; guests can upload photos of themselves in front of it to Instagram with the hashtag #40yrsbaked for a chance to win a VIP trip to Amsterdam.
