Monkey Town 4 will pop up in Denver with a feast for the eyes and the palate
As our Show and Tell blog just reported, former Denverite Montgomery Knott is bringing Monkey Town 4, a Brooklyn-born video cube and dining installation, to Denver -- for its first foray outside of New York. The pop-up will start its several-month pop-up run beginning February 27 in the Exdo in RiNo. See also:Ruth's Chris returns, Furr's departs Colorado: Our Restaurant Roll Call for January
"Monkey Town started on an airplane with a delirious sketch on a cocktail napkin and a desire to create an experience bringing together my love of film and video with adventures in food -- and to share it with all my friends. Over the years, it blossomed into something way beyond my vision, where a community of artists shaped and designed the space into what it actually became," Knott told Susan Froyd. "It's great to be back in Denver, where I grew up. "
Monkey Town 4, created in partnership with MCA Denver, Denver Digerati and Ivar Zeile of Plus Gallery, as well as the Boulder Museum of Contemporary Art, will feature a menu by local chefs Jonathan Power of the Populist, Daniel Landes of City, O' City/WaterCourse Foods and Andrew Van Stee and Chris MacGillivray of Noble Swine Supper Club, to be enjoyed while viewing stunning curated video works on the walls in an immersive setting.
There will be servings nightly at 6 and 8:30 p.m. Tuesdays through Sundays during the run, which goes through June 1. Find more information and purchase tickets, $50 for a Tuesday-night three-course meal or $80 for the five-course option served Wednesdays through Sundays, online.
