Ten trucks, one big bash: Justice League of Street Food revs up for its first party of the summer -- and you can eat and drink for free!
The Justice League of Street Food -- Denver's elite fleet of food truck movers and shakers -- are back with a vengeance after last summer's incredibly successful debut, and this Saturday, from 5 to 10 p.m., the motorcade is revving up for its first party of the summer season, pimping foodstuffs from ten different trucks and carts: The Denver Cupcake Truck, Steuben's, Deluxe Street Food's Little Orange Rocket, Gastro Cart, Biker Jim's Gourmet Dogs, Pinche Tacos, The Biscuit Bus, Sully's Slice Truck, Stick it to Me, and The Steamin' Demon.
The location for the powwow, which, last year, was just behind Coors Field, has moved this year to 3507 Ringsby Court, directly north of Fuel Cafe, in the paved parking lot of Freight on the River.
In addition to truck grub, the bash will include sangria, beer from Great Divide and wines from Tortoise Creek, along with tunes from DJ Bobby C, who simultaneously spins music and projects cool film clips on the building walls, as well as a kid's playground. You can even bring your dog.
Best of all, we're giving away free food and libations to one Cafe Society reader, who can regal us with a haiku -- the first line has five syllables, the second line has seven and the third has five -- that best explains why you should be the victorious recipient. In addition to your submission, please make sure that you leave a valid e-mail address, so we can contact you if you win.
The contest closes today at 4 p.m., and we'll announce the champion by 6 p.m.
