On Sunday, September 25, Westword's DISH, our annual celebration of the Denver dining scene, returns for its 22nd year. The festival of food will take over Sculpture Park at the Denver Performing Arts Complex, where dozens of local restaurants will offer samples of their best dishes, including plenty of smoky barbecue.
GQue Championship Barbecue serves delicious smoked meats with all the sides — all based on recipes that owner Jason Ganahl has developed for competitive barbecue events throughout the U.S. His Westminster restaurant is known for wings, ribs, beef brisket and turkey — all dusted with a signature dry rub. GQue also serves its own house-recipe jalapeño-cheddar sausage, which Ganahl will bring to DISH this year. You need to go early to GQue, where everything sells out quickly — but GQue is bringing enough for everyone at DISH.
