Today: The Great American Meatout
It's never been easier to go vegetarian or vegan, and the annual Great American Meatout (which happens every year on or around March 20) is a fantastic reminder of what we can do for our bodies and for the planet by simply changing our eating habits. Keep reading for a rundown of Meatout events in Colorado.
Today from noon to 3 p.m. in Old Town Fort Collins, Orange County People for Animals will be handing out free food and literature.
Tomorrow from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Aurora Central Library, 14949 East Alameda Drive, there will be a lecture, presentation and video screening exploring the benefits of a plant-based diet.
Tomorrow from 1 to 3 p.m., Charlotte Cressey of Orange County People for Animals will give a presentation called "From Separation to Wholeness: Dismemberment of Nonhuman Animals, Dismemberment of the Human Spirit and How to Return to Wholeness" at Temple Kung Fu, 1612 North College Avenue in Fort Collins; there will be free vegan food samples available.
Tomorrow, starting at 5:30 p.m., there will be a Feed-In with a plant-based potluck dinner, information tables and more at Lakeside Community Room, 3150 Lakeside Drive in Grand Junction; call 970-255-0417.
On Sunday, March 20, there will be a public food sampling from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Bayfield Public Library, 395 Bayfield Center Drive in Bayfield; call 970-946-3427.
And next Saturday, March 26, Orange County People for Animals will host author Ann Shakti Marquis from 1 to 4 p.m.; Marquis will give a presentation titled "The Vegan Paradise: A New Worldview to Save Our Bodies, Minds, and Souls" at Temple Kung Fu, 1612 North College Avenue in Fort Collins. There's a $10 admission charge.
