Escape the stifling heat and head inside to the cool confines of Elway's Downtown (1881 Curtis Street), the steakhouse in the Ritz-Carlton that's hosting a winemaker's dinner tonight with Jerry Murry, cellar master and assistant winemaker for Patton Valley Vineyards in Oregon's Willamette Valley. The dinner includes five courses, all paired with small production pinot noirs (many of which have garnered excellent reviews in Wine Spectator magazine, if you care about that kind of thing) for $65 per person, excluding tax and gratuity. It all gets underway at 6 p.m., and reservations are necessary; call 303-312-3107 to book your seat. But do it fast, because only 16 spots are available.
