Today we honor the commitment, service and sacrifice of those who serve in our armed forces. Several restaurants around town will be offering deals to veterans as well as those currently serving; keep reading to get the scoop on Veterans Day specials —  as well as a bonus beer dinner. 

All Village Inn locations will be honoring active and retired military members with free breakfast, a free slice of pie and a "Thank You for Your Service" card, which will get the card holders 20 percent off their next visit. Concepts Restaurant Group is honoring those who have served by offering vets a free meal today. Former and active-duty military personnel who show their military ID or wear their uniform will receive a free meal and non-alcoholic drink at any Concepts restaurant. Vets can stop by Blue Island Oyster BarHumboldt Farm, Fish & WineIgnite Burgers & Bar and Spruce Farm & Fish to cash in on this deal.

Participating locations of Denny's will be serving up a free Build Your Own Grand Slam from 5 a.m. to noon for all active, inactive and retired military personnel. Call the location nearest you to make sure they are participating in the deal.

From open to close today, every Bar Louie location across the country will offer veterans and military personnel a free meal up to a $12 value. Contact the Bar Louie nearest you for more information.

Ian Clark, chef/founder of BRU handbuilt ales & eats, is teaming up with chef Jensen Cummings from Brewed Food for BRU's November Beer Dinner, featuring dishes from both chefs, with a focus on fermented foods. The two chefs also brewed a special collaboration Imperial Stout for the dinner, which starts at 7 p.m. Tickets are $60; for reservations,call the restaurant at 720-638-5193.
