White Fence Farm Wins Top Family-Friendly Restaurant Award
Bird is the word today. Lakewood's White Fence Farm, famous for its down-home atmosphere, animal attractions, and especially its fried chicken, has been named one of the Top Family Friendly restaurants in America by nationwide food supplier US Foods.
Although the debate over family-friendly dining is still raging in Denver, there's no doubt that White Fence Farm, in business since 1973, is serious about being an all-inclusive restaurant. US Foods cited WFF's horse and carriage rides and its famous petting zoo as examples of wholesome family fun. But there's also the arcade, the robotic chicken sing-along, and the Pig Chute that sends kids squealing all the way down.
The US Foods judging panel evaluated the ten finalists for the award based on the quality of the kids' menus, family-friendliness and amount of fun to be had. Coloradans have given the chicken eatery high marks in all those areas for years, and especially for the fried chicken -- the kind of crispy, succulent bird that can get all kinds of families to gather 'round the dinner table.
