Behind the scenes at The Kitchen Denver

1 of 43

The Kitchen Denver offers between four and six varieties of oyster at any given time -- all year-round. They are served by the half-dozen for $16 and by the dozen for $32 and come with cocktail sauce, champagne, mignonette and lemon. During the restaurant's community hour, 3 to 6 p.m. daily, oysters cost $1.25 each.

In this week's food review, Westword Cafe critic Gretchen Kurtz encouraged greater attention to detail in her critique of the Kitchen Denver. In these photos, Mark Manger shines attention on the local staple, located at 1530 16th Street, and its picturesque eats.
