"Not every zombie dreams of being a princess, but many would like to chew on one." So say the organizers of the Denver County Fair's Zombie Beauty Pageant, held on Friday, August 9, 2013 at the National Western Complex. Featuring rounds of interviews, talent and evening wear, the pageant put to test those who apply zombie makeup and the best undead moans by contestants. Hosted by Patrick Thomas and Travis Durland and presented by Brack Lee, the aim of the pageant was "to provide a spotlight to zombies who aspire to majestically ooze outward splendor and demonstrate the inner beauty that clamors to crawl out and feast on an awestruck crowd with confident poise."
