The Dushanbe Teahouse, 1770 13th Street, Boulder.
You could date the beginning of this story to the teahouses of the ancient Silk Road, the network of trade routes connecting Asia, Europe and parts of Africa and a nexus of artistic, culinary and cultural exchange. Or you could date it to the 1987 visit of Dushanbe mayor Maksud Ikramov, whose city had been chosen by Boulder's Sister City Program for its similarities to Boulder.
