Wolves are one of the most popular animals to portray. Most are drawn to the pack animal ideals: loyalty, support and community. Many see the qualities of a silent, strong predator as an extension of themselves.
Held at the Denver DoubleTree hotel from August 12 to August 14, 2011, the Rocky Mountain Fur Con attracted all sorts of people who enjoy the anthropomorphic hobby of acting as a "furry." This year's theme was "I need a Hero," in which all attendees were encouraged to come dressed as heroes. Photographer Taryn Kapronica brings back these photos for Westword.
