Outside La Zona Rosa
Village Voice Media hosted its annual Showdown at SXSW Music on March 20 at La Zona Rosa. Doors opened at 12 noon and by 12:15 the venue was packed with 500 people and later hit capacity. This year's lineup featured Surfer Blood, The Pains of Being Pure at Heart, Superchunk and the XX. Read more in Jennifer Maerz's review here.
