Michelle Malkin: When it comes to the right’s top journalists, Sean Hannity, George Will and Matt Drudge can eat her dust!

Sensing a shortage of lists in popular culture, The Daily Beast’s Tunku Varadarajan has put together a roster of “The Right’s Top 25 Journalists,” based not necessarily on the quality of their work, but on the influence they wield over the masses.

And guess who’s number six: None other than Michelle Malkin, who, since moving to Colorado Springs, has engaged in numerous local events (read about her role in Colorado’s porkiest anti-stimulus protest ever) and controversies (she called the window-smashing at Denver’s Democratic HQ, which was initially, and incorrectly, blamed on right-wingers, “a teachable moment“).

Who’s lower on the roster than Malkin? Sean Hannity, George Will and Matt Drudge, among others. And who’s ahead of her?

Just Bill O’Reilly, Peggy Noonan, Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck and top-dog — Paul Gigot? Yes, Gigot’s the editorial page editor of the Wall Street Journal, but he doesn’t command an army of 9.12 believers or Ditto-heads.

Here’s what Varadarajan wrote about MM:

Fearsomely combative, Malkin is a conservative columnist who minces no words and takes no prisoners. Although there is little nuance in her writing, there is never a shortage of conviction. Those who provoke her ire are addressed with an aggression that borders on the bellicose.

In this context, presumably, that’s a good thing. Mr. O’Reilly, you’d better watch your back.
