The Alamo Drafthouse Cinema, where movies and beer dwell together in perfect harmony, won’t open its doors at Aspen Grove until early next year, but the much-awaited franchise is already serving that community by hosting a Wednesday-night outdoor film festival at the Littleton mall this summer.
And the Aspen Grove Free Family Film Series is more than just a movie under the stars. It’s more than just a movie and a beer, under the stars — it’s an extravaganza.
Before tonight’s film — Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory — begins to roll at dusk, Alamo will throw the Ultimate Willy Wonka Party, replete with a deluge of chocolate fountains, bubble-blowing and a hunt for a golden ticket.
Bring your own blankets and lawn chairs when the gates open at 7 p.m.; admission is free, but Great Divide brews will be available for adults with a $2 donation to the Humane Society of the South Platte Valley.
