MaxFund, Denver’s only no-kill animal shelter, is holding its annual fundraiser tonight, and helping out will be easier — and more fun — than you might expect. Puttin’ on the Max: Viva Paws Vegas! will include various forms of entertainment, including the popular pet parade, says spokeswoman Maya Ellman.

“It’s a fashion show with dogs who need to be adopted, and they strut the runway; it’s really cute. We’ll have live and silent auctions with amazing auction items, from trips to exotic locations to signed sports memorabilia and more,” she says. “The dinner is really wonderful up at the Brown Palace. And, of course, Kirk Montgomery, the Channel 9 entertainment reporter, will be there as master of ceremonies, and he’s really funny.”

The black-tie-optional festivities start at 5:30 p.m. at the Brown Palace Hotel, 321 17th Street; admission is $100, which includes a reception, a sit-down dinner and entertainment. Visit www.maxfund.org for more information.
