10 Things to Do for $10 in Denver This Weekend (Eight Free!), April 1-3

After you wrap the toilet seat at your favorite neighborhood bar in Saran Wrap in honor of April Fool's Day, retreat to one of these bargain events, where you can enjoy a very rare beer, color away your cares or clean up the community. Patio Tap Takeover
Local 46 
4 p.m. Friday, free
Call it a trifecta: The suds were a collaborative effort between Ratio and New Belgium, and the beer's getting poured at Local 46 — which makes for two brew masterminds on one of the best patios in the city. Let's Get Incredible, a bruleed grapefruit saison, takes over the taps today: You owe it to yourself to try some before the tap runs dry. 
Denver Tool Library Turns One
Su Teatro Cultural and Performing Arts Center
6 p.m. Friday, $10
It's pretty rad that you can wake up, think to yourself, "I want to make a table," and then cruise to the Denver Tool Library for the saws and  screws. Show your thanks and celebrate the success of the library at this party.  Face Man, Strange Americans, Safe Boating Is No Accident and Lee Avenue will kick out the jams on the custom-built stage crafted by DTL volunteers. You might even be able to score a free membership or other DTL swag while you sip on a cocktail.

Zen Coloring Hour

Namaste your day with colored pencils, crayons and those special scented markers. To prepare a discussion with author/comedian Paul Barach later in the night, warm up your shading and hatching skills during a free coloring hour. The "zengria" will flow as you bring the black-and-white pages of My Magical Oasis and The Mindfulness Coloring Book to full-color life.

This is what it's all about. At the youthful age of 73, Jan Friedman is entering the art world. Now that she finally has time to create, the great-grandmother will debut her folksy paintings and hop on the piano while her son plays guitar. It's never to late to push new passions.

Lafayette Electronic Arts Festival

Lafayette is hosting an awe-inspiring electronics art festival, featuring hometown artists as well as luminaries from across the country. Benton C Bainbridge, Andrew Blanton, Orbiting Olympia and more will present technological sounds backed by projected visuals for a 3-4D experience. Bainbridge will also offer a lecture at 10 a.m. Saturday.
 
Governor Jack Washes Your Sheets and Bumblefuck
Voodoo Comedy Playhouse

Governor Jack welcomes Butch Roy, founder of the Twin Cities Improv Festival, who'll reveal all of his embarrassing and dirty laundry, then perform a little improv based on those stories. Following that will be a new, free GJ show shrouded in secrecy, Bumblefuck. All we can tell you for sure is that the lineup for the comedy show is stacked — and you'll only have the fun if you're there. 

Tom's World: 3 Years of Painting
Rhinoceropolis 
5 p.m. Saturday, free
Thomas Scharfenberg spent much of the last three years painting murals on the interior of one Denver's oldest DIY venues. The colorful patterns represent the energy of the sights and sounds of the space, which hosts music and art of all sorts. While the fate of the building is still uncertain, you're certain to be impressed by this DIY project.
 
Back to the 80s Indoor Food Truck Party
The Glitter Dome

Summer is still a couple of full moons away, but the food-truck spirit of warmer days will be in the air at Glitter Dome tonight. Grab a cocktail or a brew, peruse the artisan booths and enjoy dinner from Fat Green Bowl, Crock Spot, A Taste of the Philippines or a handful of others. No food-truck party would be complete without tunes, so enjoy the sounds of El Paso Lasso and DJ E-TRANE, too. The evening supports the Rotary Club of Five Points Cultural District, so let the good times roll.
