Expect the work in Whitings new show, Primitives (his fourth solo at Plus), to advance from Pac-Man-style square grids into triangular shapes evoking the 3-D technology of more modern video-game graphics. But dont discount the exhibits title: These pieces exude a monolithic quality, indicative of the evolutionary process Zeile describes.
Primitives opens with a reception from 6 to 8 p.m. tonight and will stay up through November 27; the exhibit coincides with the unveiling of Whitings public sculpture Rhino at the triangular intersection of Broadway and Larimer Street sometime this month. Plus is a block from that site, at 2501 Larimer; for more information, go to www.plusgallery.com or call 303-296-0927.
