A Chance at the Bigtime

Some lucky amateurs (or otherwise) will have their moments in the spotlight tonight when the Boulder Theater presents Neil Berg's 100 Years of Broadway, an all-star revue of Broadway favorites sung by a cast of five pros direct from the Great White Way. So in addition to the experienced belting of non-stop hits by Ray McCleod, Rita Harvey, Carter Calvert, Danny Zolli and Erick Buckley, some winning entrants in the Singing with the Broadway Stars contest will also warble on stage during tonight’s show.

The revue, described as offering a smashing compilation of the best of the best, including tunes from The Phantom of the Opera, Evita, Les Misérables and more, begins at 8 p.m. at the Boulder Theater, 2032 14th Street in downtown Boulder; for tickets, $40 to $48.50, visit www.bouldertheater.com or call 303-786-7030.

KEEP WESTWORD FREE... Since we started Westword, it has been defined as the free, independent voice of Denver, and we'd like to keep it that way. With local media under siege, it's more important than ever for us to rally support behind funding our local journalism. You can help by participating in our "I Support" program, allowing us to keep offering readers access to our incisive coverage of local news, food and culture with no paywalls.
Susan Froyd started writing for Westword as the "Thrills" editor in 1992 and never quite left the fold. These days she still freelances for the paper in addition to walking her dogs, enjoying cheap ethnic food and reading voraciously. Sometimes she writes poetry.
