To taste some of the best flavors of the valley and sip some great wines showcased by the vintners themselves, all in such an amazing setting, is awe-inspiring, says Susan Fritz, president of the Taste of Vail board of directors. This years gustatory blowout, which continues through Saturday, includes a new and creative seminar on umami and an aphrodisiac program that we hope will attract new audiences and continue to educate foodies about fun concepts, she adds.
Several guest chefs, cookbook authors and wine geeks, including the always flamboyant Josh Wesson and local kitchen genius Jennifer Jasinski, chef/owner of Rioja, are all part of the culinary lineup, which concludes with a gut-swelling grand tasting, followed by live music and dancing to shake off all those calories. Tickets and passes to the Taste of Vail, the proceeds of which benefit Vail Valley charities, can be purchased at www.tasteofvail.com.
