An Affair to Remember

The annual Westword Menu Affair is always a party. And I don't say that lightly: The food is free, the booze flows freely, and at least one inappropriate pass is always made. The sixth edition, happening tonight, promises to be no different, with more than thirty local restaurants — including Limon, Benny Blanco's, Goosetown Tavern and Wazee Supper Club — participating, and Bud, Finlandia, Chambord and Iron Mountain Winery sponsoring the liquor. There's also a Steel Chef competition, in which Troy Guard of nine75 will square off against Frank Bonanno from Mizuna/Luca d'Italia, plus live jazz hosted by KUVO. The taste sensation runs from 7 to 10 p.m., but foodies know to arrive early for the best culinary selections. So head over to Invesco Field (free parking in lots A and B), and enter through Gate 7. Tickets are $25 in advance at or $35 at the door, and all proceeds benefit Food Bank of the Rockies.
Thu., Oct. 12, 7-10 p.m.
KEEP WESTWORD FREE... Since we started Westword, it has been defined as the free, independent voice of Denver, and we'd like to keep it that way. With local media under siege, it's more important than ever for us to rally support behind funding our local journalism. You can help by participating in our "I Support" program, allowing us to keep offering readers access to our incisive coverage of local news, food and culture with no paywalls.
