But McDaniels was fired, and the team begins its 2011 regular season tonight with new head coach John Fox at the helm as they face the Raiders at the recently renamed Sports Authority Field at Mile High.
Although the Broncos seemingly have nowhere to go but up, expectations are always high for the vaunted franchise, and a return to mere mediocrity wont please many fans of the orange and blue. Starting quarterback Kyle Orton put up decent numbers last season (twenty touchdowns, nine interceptions and 3,653 total yards), but hell need more help from the defense, which came in dead last in both yards per game and points allowed.
The Broncos host the Raiders starting at 8:15 p.m. at Sports Authority Field at Mile High, and while tickets are sold out (as usual), there are plenty of bars around town where you can watch the game with your fellow Broncomaniacs.
