If your relatives are anything like mine, then it's tough to find family activities that truly have something for everyone. Well, look no further than the City Park Festival of the Arts: This free fest features more than 140 artists and craftspeople for moms; two stages of music, including rock, salsa, hip-hop and swing tunes for dads; an open-mike stage and drum circle for hippie-chic sisters; the Children's Hospital interactive adventure area for little brothers; and complete meals for just $5 from such eateries as Bastiens, DTC Catering, Manny's Smokehouse and more for that bottomless pit of an uncle. And the fact that the event is happening at all should be a good enough reason for your community-minded cousin: After being canceled this spring to make way for the Colfax Marathon, the CPFA looked doomed, but organizers resurrected the fest in response to an outpouring of community support. Stop by City Park, 2100 Steele Street, today from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. to celebrate all that the area has to offer. Visit http://cityparkfestival.org or call 720-205-6506 for more information.
Sat., Aug. 11, 10 a.m.-6 p.m.
