"We're a little bit game show, we're a little bit musical, we're a lot of comedy," Padilla adds. But that almost goes without saying: The variety show features a chorus of sock puppets and flashy guest stars (including Westword theater critic Juliet Wittman on December 17). Padilla isn't 100 percent sure what the guest stars will say or do, she admits, "so there'll be a lot of wonderful, unexpected things that happen." And that includes the post-BALLS! Afterglow party, where there will be photo opportunities with the sock puppets, as well as food, drink and live music.
It all goes down at BINDERY | space, 2180 Stout Street, with the show starting at 7:31 p.m. every Thursday through Saturday through December 19. Tickets are pay-what-it's-worth; an offering plate will be passed, so bring cash or a check. Visit www.lida.org for a complete roster of guest stars; make reservations (strongly recommended) at 720-221-3821 or [email protected].
Thursdays-Saturdays, 7:31 p.m. Starts: Dec. 3. Continues through Dec. 19, 2009
