Beaver Creek, Vail, Aspen honored at National Ski Area Safety Awards

Beaver Creek won top honors last week at the National Ski Areas Association (NSAA) 2010 National Ski Area Safety Awards, marking the seventh year in a row Beaver Creek's Skier and Snowboarder Responsibility Program has held the Best Overall Safety Program title.

The resort's 2009/2010 safety initiatives included Beaver Creek Safety Week in January, a new Smart Style Terrain Park Safety campaign, a partnership with the Eagle County Snow Rider Safety Alliance, a Family Safety Tip Cards public information campaign, the Riperroo Ski School Safety mascot for kids, and the ongoing Yellow Jackets safety ambassadors and Beaver Creek Rescue Dogs programs. 

Other Colorado resorts recognized include Vail (best Safety Week Program, tied with Vermont's Stratton Mountain Resort) and Aspen Snowmass (Best Employee Involvement and Education).
