Blarney Stones

If you don’t want to waste away St. Patrick's Day just drinking, consider attending All That Glitters Is Green, the latest installment of the Science Lounge at the Denver Museum of Nature & Science. Yes, you’ll still be able to drink – but you can also soak up some knowledge.

"We'll be getting out a bunch of our gems, some of them green, for people to check out without the glass barrier," says Liz Davis, manager of adult programs at the museum. "The mix of gems and minerals with St. Patrick's Day is a little random, but I think it adds to the fun." In addition to the scientific exhibit, brainiacs will be able to enjoy green beer and other specially formulated mixed drinks from the cash bar, music by the Clam Daddys, and a leprechaun hunt in the mineral hall.

The fun runs from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. tonight at the museum, 2001 Colorado Boulevard. Tickets are $8 for members, $10 for non-members. For more information, call 303-370-6000 or visit
