It's not quite the Al Johnson Uphill/Downhill Race in terms of color, but it is a fun day with a great chance to see how ski fashions have changed. Go digging in your closet, find those old neon one-piece suits and skinny skis and go up to Eldora this Saturday, for the annual Retro Day from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Eldora will have a DJ spinning in the base area, and giveaways and schwag from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., and starting at 1 will have an obstacle course, with awards for costumes and the obstacle course given out at 2. The day concludes with a concert from 2-4 by Hot Soup at the Corona Bowl Bar.
Revisit just how bad the 70s were in all their disco-blasted glory, or go totally old school in a pair of jeans and a tie-dye shirt with painted peace signs on your cheeks and have a blast.
Here's a short video clip from last year showing the spectacle that is Retro Ski Day. Enjoy!
