Starting next week, the center of Denver could be the center of your workout. Civic Center Moves is just the latest project promoted by the Civic Center Conservancy to turn Civic Center Park into a more positive Denver space. "People make parks, so starting April 2a, when you work out for free at Civic Center MOVES, both you and Civic Center Park will get healthier," says Lindy Eichenbaum Lent, executive director of the Civic Center Conservancy.
The MOVES classes will meet at various times in various parts of the park and feature different activities, including yoga, boot camp, full-body workouts and more. Lent hopes the program will not only help Denverites stay fit, but reintroduce them to the park.
"The key to Civic Center MOVES is accessibility: The workouts are free, open to all fitness levels, available at different times of day four days a week -- and all in a centrally-located historic location with a spectacular architectural and horticultural backdrop," she notes.
Civic Center Park is a that's space often underused, Lent adds, and with MOVES and other programs, the Civic Center Conservancy is working to "reclaim Civic Center as a vibrant community asset."
