Four dancers and two musicians will use their bodies and instruments (and the occasional video clip) to explore the enigmatic and dramatic pull that rock music and musicians hold over us. The work is divided into two main sections, with one happening on a raised stage, giving it a boxing rink/dance club-inspired feel.
Control Group was started by Mueller and a group of performers a little over a year ago as a dance company working in a variety of styles out of the Packing House Center for the Arts, 835 East 50th Avenue. Since their inaugural offering, they've staged two other live performance pieces and three video productions, and the Packing House was recently named Westword's Best Venue for Dance/Avant-Garde for 2010.
Demolition Queens begins tonight at 8 p.m., with additional performances tomorrow and Saturday, also at 8. Admission is $15 at the door, or $12 if you buy online at www.controlgroupproductions.org. For more information, call 303-947-2827.
