Denver PrideFest 2013 announces headliners Taylor Dayne and Martha Wash

The middle of June isn't that far away, so it's not too early to begin planning for Denver PrideFest 2013, scheduled for June 15 and 16 this year in Civic Center Park. Sexy `80s pop star Taylor Dayne will headline the Center Stage on Saturday, followed on Sunday by sassy Weather Girl Martha Wash on Sunday. Bring your umbrella -- it'll be raining men!

To jog your memory:

In the meantime, now's the time to sign up for the June 16 CoorsLight PrideFest Parade down Colfax Avenue from Cheesman Park to Civic Center; applications, available now at the PrideFest website, are due by June 1. E-mail Kathleen Rooney for information.

Interested in volunteering for the fest? You'll have to wait until May 1 to do that. Then visit Denver PrideFest online for the details, and you'd better work fast, when the application goes up: The best shifts will be snapped up quickly.

Support the independent voice of Denver and help keep the future of Westword free.

Keep Westword Free... Since we started Westword, it has been defined as the free, independent voice of Denver, and we would like to keep it that way. Offering our readers free access to incisive coverage of local news, food and culture. Producing stories on everything from political scandals to the hottest new bands, with gutsy reporting, stylish writing, and staffers who've won everything from the Society of Professional Journalists' Sigma Delta Chi feature-writing award to the Casey Medal for Meritorious Journalism. But with local journalism's existence under siege and advertising revenue setbacks having a larger impact, it is important now more than ever for us to rally support behind funding our local journalism.
