Fashionista Extravaganza

Entrepreneur and Fashion Denver founder Brandi Shigley will commemorate several milestones today at the Fashion Denver Anniversary Bash. “We are celebrating one year of being at our 1070 Bannock Street location, seven years of Fashion Denver being a company, and eleven years of me celebrating entrepreneurship,” explains Shigley. “It’s really about doing what you love and loving what you do.”

Shigley’s clearly an expert on that; in seven years, Fashion Denver has grown into an organization that features 25 local designers in the showroom and seasonal fashion markets — and in 2011, she plans to expand the consulting services, workshops and events branching out of it.

But that’s in the future: Tonight is about enjoying fashion, mini-manicures, color consultations and musical performances — including a set by singer-songwriter Leslie Brown, who will perform songs from her new EP, Disarmed and Dangerous. DJ JD will also be selecting music. “He’s been one of my biggest musical inspirations,” Shigley reveals. “We’re just bringing in creative people who have inspired Fashion Denver and entrepreneurship.”

The festivities take place at Fashion Denver, 1070 Bannock Street, from 6 to 10 p.m., and admission is free. Visit http://fashiondenver.com or call 720-974-2200.
