Feature presentations range from the subjective documentary Trans, by Denver director and University of Colorado alum Shannon Kelly, to the quirky romantic drama Natural Causes from brother-directors Alex and Paul Cannon of New York. The unjuried lineup was created by Burley, who solicited offerings from filmmakers she knew and respected. “I’m most excited about the short film Hollywood Jerome, directed by Frey Hoffman, which won Best Poetry on Film at the 2008 Cannes Film Festival, Best Short at the Arizona Black Film Festival and many other awards,” she says.
But while films provide the focus for Fast Forward Fringe, there’s more to this two-day fringe Fringe presentation, which starts today. There will also be live music and Q&A sessions with the directors hosted by Greg Baumhauer of Wrist Deep Productions and Comedy Works. Tickets are $10 each for tonight’s Program A and tomorrow’s Program B, but if you bring an A ticket stub to B, you get $5 off.
