So she started looking around and discovered the Adams 12 Five Star Prom Shop, which offers heavily discounted, gently used, fashionable formal wear to students who might not otherwise be able to attend the big dance. And thus Prom Redux was born, as a fundraiser for the store. "It's always fun to look back nostalgically at high school, because we're so much cooler now than we were," notes Katz. "And a lot of girls were really excited to find something to do with all those bridesmaid's dresses."
Join the 21-plus party tonight at Jonesy's EatBar, 400 East 20th Avenue, and bring your own donation of a gently used formal dress or tuxedo (monetary donations will also be accepted). There will be a DJ, a professional photographer (complete with prom arch, balloons and props), a corsage bar and spiked-punch drink specials. Prom starts at 7 p.m.; visit http://lupecdenver.org for information.
