Leah Hardy: Specimina Hinterland Art Space October 10 through November 7 Opening reception: 6 to 11 p.m. Friday, October 10 Closing reception: 6 to 10 p.m. Friday November 7

Wyoming artist Leah Hardy's small, cast-bronze works focus on personal talismans. In this series, she introduces insect forms that are altered with mechanical trappings. Visit Hinterland Tuesdays through Saturdays or by appointment, or see the show at the opening and closing receptions.

Evan Hecox's first solo at Super Ordinary explores urban adventures through road-trip photos and starkly graphic drawings that capture city moments in a haze of memory. With a strong focus on the artist's visual versatility, the show serves as a personal addendum to September's one-night Chocolate Skateboards retrospective at the gallery.

CT Nelson: Thick with Instinct Knew Conscious Gallery October 11 through November 7 Opening reception: 7 to 11 p.m. Saturday, October 11 Closing reception: 7 to 11 p.m. Friday, November 7

CT Nelson mines fantasy realms in dense paintings that come alive with explosions of light-infused color and mixed metaphors. Take a trip through space and time at this show, which is bookended by opening and closing receptions. Ultraviolet provides a musical backdrop at Saturday's opener.
