Game of Thrones Season 2 premiere tonight at Landmark Theatre

Game of Thrones Season 2 is coming.

Game of Thrones, HBO's latest popular series that's been described as sort of The Sopranos meets Lord of the Rings, debuts its second season Sunday night, but Denver-area viewers can get a sneak peek of the new series tonight.

What's more, fans who dress up like their favorite Game of Thrones characters -- oh, the possibilities! -- will be entered to win a contest that includes an iPad 2 and "Game of Thrones swag," according to the organizers.

So, there's the chance you could be dressed in medieval garb and holding a new iPad at the end of the night -- and you will have seen Game of Thrones before anyone else, which sounds like an excellent evening.

The event is a joint effort of HBO and Food Bank of the Rockies, held at the Landmark Theatre in Greenwood Village, 5415 Landmark Place. The screenings are at 7 and 8 p.m. and are open to guests 21 and older only. Organizers stress that "admittance is not guaranteed and will be issued on a first-come, first-served basis," so keep that in mind while you're putting on your chain mail.

A press release from HBO reads, "For a chance to attend the event, fans can enter by emailing coloradogame@hbo.com," but fans can also just show up. You may want to get there early, though, based on the show's popularity and buildup to the Season 2 premiere.

And be a real Stark and bring some canned-food items for Food Bank of the Rockies, which is encouraged, because not everyone can eat like a Lannister.
