The annual
Cowboy Poetry Gathering is finally legal this year, having reached the ripe old age of 21. Liz Masterson has been involved since the beginning and even if you didn't get tickets to tonight's sold-out Baxter Black performance, she says theres still plenty to be excited about. "We have a group called Wylie and the Wild West coming for the first time on Sunday, and hes a superb yodeler," Masterson reveals. "He was the yodeling voice on the Yahoo! commercial, but that's not even a warmup for him."
Other highlights include music and poetry sessions tomorrow and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. "They offer four stages of continuous entertainment, Masterson points out, and each stage has four performers, so for a small fee you can see a huge variety of poets and singers."
The Cowboy Poetry Gathering runs today through Sunday at the Arvada Center, 6901 Wadsworth Boulevard in Arvada; get details at www.arvadacenter.org or 720-898-7200.
