"The glock has an uncanny ability to add a chipper and glee-producing quality to any song, at least the way we play it," says Peterson. "We've considered marketing a new campaign for years now that we're sure would take off: 'Rock out with your glock out.' We're just waiting for a Yamaha to knock on the door."
Adding a musical touch to a series of events celebrating Poetry Month, Nervous But Excited appears tonight at the Mercury Cafe, 2199 California Street, with slam poet Andrea Gibson, who is headlining. "We write and perform with the hope that our songs will be interpreted in whatever way the listener feels them," Peterson says, "and we believe that is an innate element of poetry."
The folk begins at 8 p.m.; tickets are $10 to $15. Call 303-294-9281 or visit www.mercurycafe.com for information.
