Last night Cat checked out an advance screening of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, which opens everywhere on Wednesday, July 11. Security was tight – they took everyone’s cell phones, iPods, Blackberries, etc. and put them in sealed bags you had to retrieve after the film – and the line long, but everyone was upbeat and ready to see Mr. Potter. There were plenty of witches and wizards waiting in the crowd, but Cat loved the girl dressed as auror Tonks, wearing a pink wig and a “Weird Sisters” T-shirt.
Cat won’t spoil the movie for other Potterphiles out there, but suffice it to say that Imelda Staunton lives up to all expectations of sugar-coated evil as Dolores Umbridge, while Helena Bonham Carter is just pure, giddy, unrefined evil as Bellatrix Lestrange. The unexpected star turn was by Evanna Lynch as Luna Lovegood. She is just a delight as Harry’s new kooky-yet-insightful friend. The screen just seems luminous when she's in a scene.
Also, Harry’s getting hotter; Ron’s as delightfully lovable as always; and Hermione is becoming a looker. (Emma Watson already has the red carpet look down, turning up all over in Chanel.) Too bad they didn’t have a magic wand to undo the Steven Klein-shot images of Daniel Radcliffe running in Details. Ouf. He looks like a working boy. Maybe the stylist is working for He Who Must Not Be Named? (via Fashionista)
