There’s always a lot of excitement over Bike to Work Day and the accompanying morning festivities, but when it’s time for the long ride home, enthusiasm seems to ebb. That’s why the LoDo ad agency Cactus has been hosting its Bike From Work Bash happy-hour party for the last three years, featuring burritos, beer, entertainment and ride-centric door prizes. And though in past years Cactus tried adding trike races and other cycling competitions into the mix, this year’s event is all about kicking back after a long day. “It’s a big party to celebrate bike culture in Denver and to raise funds for Bike Denver,” says Cactus spokesman Mike Lee. “We just want people to enjoy the weather and the beer and keep it simple.”

We can dig that. Join the fun from 5 to 9 p.m. at 2128 15th Street at Little Raven; everything is free, but raffle tickets will be sold to benefit Bike Denver. In addition, a 2011 Bike From Work Bash T-shirt designed by IndyInk is available online for $20; shirt proceeds also go to Bike Denver. Visit www.bikefromworkbash.com for the wheel deal.
