Homes for the Holidays

Arguably my favorite aspect of the holiday season is that it’s also home-tour season. What could be more fun than strolling through someone else’s beautifully decorated home, soaking up the atmosphere of cheer and goodwill? And the granddaddy of Denver holiday home tours is back for the 32nd year running: the L’Esprit de Noel Holiday Home Tour and Boutique, organized by the Central City Opera Guild.

This year the tour takes place in the Belarco Park neighborhood; a range of florists and table designers have been gussying up five lovely homes, which will open their doors tonight for the Patron Preview Party. Fork over $90 to $250 and enjoy an exclusive preview tour and a cocktail buffet.

Another bonus: More than forty vendors will sell wares on the tour -- everything from gourmet foods to luxury bath products to handbags -- so if you haven’t started your holiday shopping yet, this would be an opportune time to begin browsing.

The tour is open for general admission starting tomorrow from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and continuing through Sunday; tickets for the all-walking tour are $18 in advance or $20 the day of the tour. Get yours at King Soopers locations or through the Central City Opera box office at 303-292-6700 or Happy touring!
