One thing we’ve all learned from the success of Fifty Shades of Grey: Readers do like a little literary spice in their lives. And there’s a whole new market of soft-porn aficionados out there hungering for a little naughty in their novels. That’s the market targeted by A Night of New Adult Spicy Romance, a round-robin reading tonight at the Tattered Cover by a quartet of “New Adult” authors published by William Morrow who write specifically for younger, hipper audiences: Cora Carmack (Finding It, $13.99); Lisa Desrochers (A Little Too Far, $6.99); Sophie Jordan (Foreplay: The Ivy Chronicles, $13.99); and J. Lynn (Wait for You, $13.99).

:What kind of revelations can a girl expect? Try this excerpt from Jordan’s Foreplay: “The blood rushed in my ears, and suddenly it was last night all over again and I was on a lonely stretch of country road, the acrid smoke of my overheating car filling my nostrils as I stared at his familiar face. That dark blond hair cut close to his head. The tall, lean body that had bent over the engine of my car less than twenty-four hours ago. I could see him even more clearly now, but I hadn’t been mistaken in my initial assessment. He was hot. His jaw square and strong. His features like something chiseled from marble. There was a shadowy hint of stubble on his face, and his eyes were so piercing a blue they looked almost silver.” You know you want to read more.

The titillating teasers begin at 7:30 p.m. at the TC, 2526 East Colfax Avenue; admission is free, and the books are cheap. For details, go to tatteredcover.com or call 303-322-7727.
