Support the independent voice of Denver and help keep the future of Westword free.

If you have a woman in your life who will make out with you on the chairlift and then give you a run for it on the slopes, I submit that you, like me, are a lucky, lucky man. Take care of that woman, hold on tight, and do everything in your power to nurture that relationship as an investment in a lifetime of romantic adventure.

Try starting here: This week Outdoor Divas is hosting two Men's Shopping Nights to school us in the art of treating these magnificent creatures properly, just in time for the holidays. Denver dudes can hit up the Cherry Creek store on Tuesday, December 15 from 5-8 p.m. (five percent of the night's sales will go to the Boys and Girls Clubs of Metro Denver); Boulder bros can drop in on the Pearl Street location on Wednesday, December 16.

Outdoor Divas' resident divas will get you a drink and help steer you in the right direction once you get there, but consider getting her a new ride like the Lotus Rocker by Never Summer ($449), and a new kit like the Torah Bright signature set by Roxy (pants, $169; jacket $275). Then go big and get her the $685 Girlz On Edge package, a 3-day "Ski Like a Girl" clinic at the Vail Resorts, January 12-14, and next time you ride together you'll be checking out her new gear from behind. Like I said: You're a lucky, lucky man.

Keep Westword Free... Since we started Westword, it has been defined as the free, independent voice of Denver, and we would like to keep it that way. Offering our readers free access to incisive coverage of local news, food and culture. Producing stories on everything from political scandals to the hottest new bands, with gutsy reporting, stylish writing, and staffers who've won everything from the Society of Professional Journalists' Sigma Delta Chi feature-writing award to the Casey Medal for Meritorious Journalism. But with local journalism's existence under siege and advertising revenue setbacks having a larger impact, it is important now more than ever for us to rally support behind funding our local journalism. You can help by participating in our "I Support" membership program, allowing us to keep covering Denver with no paywalls.
