But the buzzy wine lounge and restaurant, at 410 East Seventh Avenue, is mixing things up, hosting its first-ever (gasp!) Summer Apps and Ales beer tasting tonight from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in the bar. And its no Budweiser drunkfest. Instead, the bar maidens and misters are rolling out weird and wonderful beers things like a lavender- and coriander-infused Witbier from The Bruery in Placentia, California. And to make sure they go down easy, executive chef Eric Rivera is pairing each beer, of which there are four, with appetizers, including wild boar bacon-wrapped chicken medallions with a sweet Olathe corn and apple salsa.
The Summer Apps and Ales shindig is only $20 per person, and reservations arent necessary, but if you want to check out the menu and the brews Rivera plans to pair with each app, its all posted at www.lalaswinebar.com/Site/Events.html.
