The annual Blossoms of Light and Trail of Lights at the Denver Botanic Gardens’ two locations have been holiday traditions for years, and with each turn, the displays have gotten bigger and better. And although both include hundreds of thousands of LED lights, each display still has a distinct feel and tone.

At Blossoms of Light, at 1007 York Street, the light sculptures are animated and synchronized with holiday songs, while at Trail of Lights, at 8500 West Deer Creek Canyon Road in Littleton, the rustic surroundings are draped in illumination along a wandering trail.

“There will be food available at both places — sweet treats, roasted nuts, kettle corn,” says DBG spokeswoman Erin Bird, “and at Blossoms of Light, we have Twinkle Twinkle Little Bar on Fridays and Saturdays in December, with hot chocolate and hot cider that you can spike with whiskey and peppermint schnapps and Baileys.”

The annual extravaganza of holiday cheer opens tonight at 5:30 p.m. and runs through January 1; admission is $5 to $10 through December 12, and $7 to $12 beginning December 13. Call 720-865-3500 or visit botanicgardens.org for more information.
