Theres nothing that a little Bette Davis eyes can't handle -- even romantic trouble. As part of a series aptly named Sex, Lies and Celluloid: Old Hollywood, Bad Romance, the Denver Public Library has been hosting a weekly film night targeting the dark side of love. And as the series' tagline points out: "Love may go wrong; lovers may come and go -- but what happens on the silver screen is forever."

Ms. Davis kicked off the program a few weeks ago. Tonight's star-crossed drama is Don't Bother to Knock (1952), starring Marilyn Monroe and Anne Bancroft. Next week's feature is Gaslight (1944), with Ingrid Bergman and Angela Lansbury. Note: Bring tissues.

The evening begins at 6 p.m. in the Central Library's Level B2 Conference Center, 10 West 14th Avenue Parkway; admission is free. For more information, call 720-865-1111 or visit www.denverlibrary.org.
Tue., Feb. 21, 6-9 p.m., 2012
