When warm weather hits the ski resorts, thoughts turn to crazy costumes. Whether it's a Retro Day or a costumed race, the longer days, warmer weather, and approaching closing dates bring a sense of frivolity to the hill. This weekend, Loveland and New Belgium Brewery are co-hosting an event like no other: the Scavenger Hunt.

This is the third Scavenger Hunt New Belgium has hosted; prior events were at Telluride and Taos. Participants can start signing up at 9 a.m.; sign-ups close at 10 a.m. Cost to register is $10, not including lift tickets. All funds raised go to charity, in this case the Alliance for Sustainable Colorado.

During the event, which runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., you are encouraged to dress up in crazy costumes and then ski around the hill, where you will hunt the elusive Sasquatch and answer Sphinx-like riddles.

The after party includes New Belgium beer, dancing, and a chance to win a a New Belgium cruiser.

Even if you don't sign up, it's fun to see what kind of costumes people come up with. Something there is sure to bring a smile to your face.
